About Baba Baukh Nag
On Diwali day, November 12, 2023, 41 workers were stuck in the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. All workers were released on November 28, 2023, after 17 days of hard work, and all of them are fully healthy.
But getting the 41 workers trapped in the tunnel out was a hard task. Also, foreign experts’ advice was taken, and a lot of machines were imported. But one after another obstacle left no stone unturned, making this rescue operation harder. However, the good news is that after 17 days of exhaustive work, there was no disappointment, and the rescue operation of the workers was successful, and everyone came out safely. The local people thought Baba Boukh Nag Devta was unhappy about the workers getting stuck in the tunnel and failing to get out of there. The Uttarkashi tunnel accident is seen as divine wrath.
Uttarkashi locals have a strong belief in Baba Boukhnag. He is referred to as the mountain protector. Baba Boukhnag’s temple is in the middle of the mountains in Naugaon. Baba Boukhnag is the presiding deity of the local people here. Baba Baukhnag is thought to have come in the form of a snake.
The temple of Boukhnag God was built at the gate of the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi after there were repeated barriers to the rescue operation to rescue 41 workers trapped in the tunnel. This temple held daily prayers. Behind a temple built near the tunnel just a day before the workers came out of the tunnel, a leak made the shape of Mahadev. People called it the real darshan of Baba Boukhnag, and after that, people started saying, Rescue Operation Success. Baba Boukhnath Devta came there to make this happen.
